In writing Montagne de Toi my aim was to take a moment in time, unaccompanied by context and see how the dynamic could be interpreted by a third person (audience). I was curious how the characters’ relationship could be conveyed through a single conversation where they attempt to uncover the truth. But by unsuccessfully speaking it, they reveal themselves through the subtext to the audience.
